Stereum gausapatum - One-year mushroom; initially single, then in clusters, merging into large patches and covering substantial surfaces; outstretched, spread-bent, sometimes fan-shaped, tile-shaped.
Upper surface rough, crumbly, concentrically zoned; the edge is wavy, serrated, lighter at youth, then darkens.

Hymenium (genus layer) smooth, strongly wrinkled, crumbly. Colors: yellow-gray, orange-brown, brownish; after being hurt, rubbed, it turns red and releases blood-red liquid.

Flesh thin, hard, leathery, bast; after bleeding damage.

Occurrence: On wood, deciduous trees and shrubs, mainly oak, less often beech, hornbeam, birch.

Value: Unaffected fungus.
