Gyromitra esculenta - Head diameter from 30 to 80 (120) mm, lighter or darker reddish brown, on the surface regularly brain-waved, with empty spaces.

The stem of the whitish-green, also with a purple tinge, the cavernous - flowing.

Flesh with a waxy or chondral consistency, fairly fragile, whitish. Aromatic fragrance.

Occurrence: III - IV; in pine forests on sands; frequent places.

Value: Poisonous mushroom - contains gyromythrine, water-soluble poison, damaging the liver, kidneys !!!
