Elaphocordyceps capitata - Mushroom composed of head and stipe.

Head diameter up to 15 mm; spherical, less ovoid, light brown, brown, scored on the surface.

Stem 30 to 90 mm high, 5 to 7 mm thick; slim, cylindrical; smooth surface, sometimes slightly longitudinally striated; yellow, yellowish-brownish.

Crumb pulp; without taste and smell.

Spores with 7-8 baffles. With dimensions of 30-80 x 6 μm.

Occurrence: In forests, seemingly on the ground; parasites on the underground fruiting bodies of Elaphomyces. It grows singly or several pieces; autumn. Rare.

Value: Unaffected fungus.
