
Bulgaria inquinans - Mushroom with a diameter of 20 to 50, 10 to 30 mm thick, initially spherical, opening at the top, later cupped or thicker; outer surface granular, branched, initially light brown, then rusty brown to dark brown, matte inner surface spore-bearing, smooth, shiny, dark brown, black.
Dark, brown, jelly-like or rubbery pulp; after drying hard, leathery and supple.
Occurrence: Usually in groups, germinated with several fruiting bodies; in forests, on the bark of dead deciduous wood, mostly beech and oak. From October to March.
Value: Unaffected fungus.
