Green woodpecker - Picus viridis a species of medium-sized bird from the woodpecker family. It inhabits almost all of Europe and western Asia - from southern Scandinavia and Great Britain to the Mediterranean and from northern Iran and Turkmenistan to the Caucasus. In addition, it nestles from the Urals to the Atlantic. It's a sedentary bird. It is not threatened with extinction.
