Mucinous (Myxomycota, Mycetozoa) Tubifera dimorphotheca Mucinous organisms are heterotrophic organisms. They feed on other fungi, bacteria and protozoa.
They can be observed on rotting wood, decaying organic matter, forest litter, faeces of herbivores. They can be of different shapes and colors. This specimen is white and resembles sturgeon caviar. But it's not edible.
