The cap, or rather - the upper calyx-shaped part of the fruit body, reaches a diameter of up to 60 mm, the young fruit body is irregularly hemispherical, becoming cup-shaped with a jagged edge over time. The surface of the calyx is smooth, most often gray-brown, olive-brown, dark brown, sometimes with a purple tinge.  

    Ripe mushrooms are sprinkled white. The outer surface is whitish, with age pale brown with a slight white coating. Downward, the mushroom is grooved, ribbed into the stem. The lower part of the fruiting body is about 70% of the total size of the mushroom. It is corrugated, mesh, ribbed, white or cream colored.  

The flesh is thin, brittle, most often white, cream color. The smell and taste is very weak, indistinct.

    Occurrence: in deciduous and coniferous forests, in forest clearings, near forest paths in light and sandy places. It grows singly or in dispersed groups; from April to July. Pretty common. Value: edible mushroom.
