Imperator luteocupreus Bertèa & Estadés - Very rare species of mushrooms

    The cap of an adult mushroom can be up to 13 cm in diameter. Yellow, orange-yellow and even red. In youth, like most porcini mushrooms, the fruiting body has a semicircular shape, later it becomes flat. When touched, the hat turns blue, becomes blue and even black.

    Dark yellow, orange leg covered with a very dense red and scarlet mesh. The leg is thick, barrel-shaped, full inside, turns blue very quickly after being cut.

    The flesh is very dense and firm, usually yellow in color. It also turns blue quickly after cutting and turns orange over time. Mild mushroom aroma, with a hint of acidity in the taste

    A characteristic feature of this fungus are the pores which are bright red, bright red, also change their color to blue-black when damaged.

    Distribution: Deciduous forests, with oaks and chestnut trees, in warm regions, in Greece, France, Italy, Spain and even Hungary and Slovakia. Usage: Inedible mushroom.
