Panellus serotinus - Hat size from 4 to 13 cm, kidney-shaped, fan-shaped, paddle-shaped, initially convex, arched, with a bevelled edge, later flat, with a straight edge. Attached to the ground with a side, short leg. Dry, smooth or suede surface. The color is dark green, greenish-brown, later greenish-gray, olive, brown, ocher brown, yellow-brown. A thin gelatinous layer under the skin. It is very sticky when wet.
Gills very firmly set, converging, pale yellow, orange, ocher in color with age. Very short stem, height 8-14 mm, thickness 10-20 mm. Full on the center, laterally set, light yellow, ocher with age with darker brown scales on the surface. The flesh is quite soft, spongy. Whitish or yellowish color. Mushroom flavor, mild, slightly bitter.
Occurrence: In various types of forests, on living and dead stumps, trunks, deciduous trees, conifers, in shady and humid places. It usually grows loose, sometimes in bunches. This species can be found from September to December and is not harmed by light frosts. Pretty common. Value: edible mushroom.
