Happy Fungi Friday! I'm back again with more fascinating fungi found in the forests of western Michigan. The following species were found over the course of the last week as I traveled through Michigan's upper peninsula in the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, the Porcupine Mountains, as well as the forests near my home city of Grand Rapids in Western Michigan.

Among my favorite finds over the last week are the Parasitic Bolete (Pseudoboletus parasiticus), a rare bolete species that only fruits from Common Earthballs (Scleroderma citrinum), as well as the Yellow-tipped Coral Fungus (Ramaria formosa), a delicately branching coral fungi with a vivid yellow coloration when fresh.
