Documenting the fungal species found on a walk through the woods in western Michigan, USA

Fungi Friday - Late Summer Fungi of Western Michigan

By tych0_21 | MyMycoBlog | 13 Aug 2021

Hello again, and happy Fungi Friday! I'm back with more photos from the woods of western Michigan, USA. My most recent walk through the woods brought me across many more beautiful fungal species.

Some highlights from my hike include the Oak Bracket (Pseudoinonotus dryadeus), also known as the "weeping conk" on account of the amber resin that oozes from the upper surface of fresh specimens, as well as the Golden Spindles (Clavulinopsis fusiformis), a bright yellow species that rises from the ground in delicate golden threads.

As always, please feel free to offer your suggestions if you believe I have misidentified any of the species pictured below.
