The lake has crystal clear freezing water and is surrounded by glaciers and the highest mountain of the area Malika Parbat having 5,290 meters height. Saif-ul-Malook lake is the highest lake of Pakistan at an altitude of 3,224 meters above sea level. According to a legend Fairies dance above the water surface on the 14th night of every lunar month.

During the winter season, the lake is completely frozen due to heavy snowfall. The best time to visit this place is from June to September. The road condition is not good. From Naran Bazar, people hire jeeps to reach this place. A road has been constructed at some parts but still, you have to cross glaciers and rough roads to reach the lake.
