Porsche will auction the last 911 to help against covid19

Porsche decided to mark the departure of the previous generation of the 911 (991) with a very special example of the 911 Speedster. Now, that same unit will be auctioned (online) by RM Sotheby’s between April 15th and 22nd and the sale proceeds will be donated to United Way Worldwide’s COVID-19 Community Response and Recovery Fund.

This is one of the 1948 copies produced of the 911 Speedster, made to mark the 70th anniversary of the Stuttgart brand. It has a 4.0 liter naturally aspirated boxer block, with six cylinders in lines, which produces 510 horsepower. It is associated with a six-speed manual gearbox that allows you to go from 0 to 96 km / h in 3.8 seconds and reach 309 km / h at top speed.

This concrete unit totals only 32 km since it left the factory, includes the Heritage Design Package and is painted in the GT Silver metallic color, and whoever buys it will also receive a 911 Speedster Heritage Design choreographer, created by Porsche Design in Switzerland. This chronograph includes the same cognac leather used in the car and has the same number of chassis.

But there is more. The happy owner of the ultimate 911 (991) will also be entitled to a visit to the Porsche development center in Weissach, as well as a book that talks about the creation of this particular specimen, which includes photographs and original sketches of the team of development of the 911 Speedster.

The car will be delivered to the new owner at an event in the USA by the hand of Klaus Zellmer, CEO of Porsche Cars North America.
