Japanese maple Splitscreen infrared


The Japanese maple belongs to the soap tree family.

It grows up to 10 meters high.

It grows in Japan on the islands Hokkaidō and Honshū.

In China it grows in the provinces of Jiangsu and Liaoning.

In autumn its leaves turn bright red,

so the Japanese maple is often planted in gardens as an ornamental tree.
