TLDR = It doesn't look good.
On my last post about Polyverse I talked about how we were in a waiting period. The Devs stated how they needed 45 then 90 days of heads down work on the project/game and they would have an update after those 90 days. Well that 90 day mark came and went about a month ago. It was still radio silence from the team.
The Discord seemed DEAD. There was only me and maybe 2 other people who would talk semi daily. And honestly I think we did it to just A) still earn Discord points so if the project does come back to life we have a head start and B) because I feel some sense of duty to keep the talking going on the Discord in hopes they do come back and not everyone has completely left.
On Nov 16th, 2024 one of the mods did post something:
In the coming days - once I have the approval - I'll be providing more updates about the new direction and upcoming milestones
So there was renewed hope the project wasn't dead. I guess 'The Creator' reached out to the mods maybe and told them an update is coming so hang on.
Now look, I consider myself semi optimistic. I have held out hope during the 90 day period and even shortly after because they specifically stated there wasn't going to be updates for 90 days. And then I gave them some grace period after that because well 'shit happens' sometimes.
But we are long past the 90 days with no update from anyone on the Polyverse team to the broader team. That is scary. 4 months of so of radio silence after the pre-alpha.
No matter who you are that doesn't look good for your end users, players, customers.
So have I given up completely on Polyverse? No not completely.
Have I lost some trust and respect for the team? yes 100%.
Do I think the project is a rugpull? No
With all that being said, the Team could regain that trust and respect if/when they come back they give a very detailed reason as to the extended radio silences and justification. Not sure what it could be that would mandate radio silence but hey you never know. Also I think since it has been 4 months since the last update there needs to be major progress on the game itself or else more and more people are going to give up on this project.
All in all, it doesn't look good from where I am standing. But there is still hope and that is what I am choosing to hold on to.
