Ingredients

500 gr. lentils

1 onion, finely chopped

2 carrots, finely chopped

2 tbsp. tomato paste

300 gr. crushed or grated tomato

1 kg oregano, dry

2 bay leaves

3 sec. garlic

2 lt hot water

1 mushroom broth in gel form

Vinegar

Salt

Pepper

Olive oil

For serving:

Feta cheese with oregano

Bread

 


Preparation

Rinse the lentils in a colander with cold water.

Place a large saucepan over medium to high heat and let it heat up. After it heats up, add the olive oil, the onion, the carrot and sauté for 4-5 minutes.

Add the tomato paste, mix with a wooden spoon and sauté for 2-3 minutes.

Add the lentils, add a little olive oil, bay leaves, garlic, oregano, crushed tomatoes, hot water, mushroom broth in gel form, cover the pot and cook for 25-30 minutes. For the last 5 minutes, add a little olive oil to boil, the vinegar, season with salt and pepper and stir.

Serve the lentils hot with feta cheese and bread.
