Good morning my friends and happy Sunday, a classic Greek dinner for today , let me show you how we do it

Ingredients

For the minced meat mixture

15 gr. olive oil
110 gr. dried onion, finely chopped
400 gr. minced pork shoulder
400 gr. ground beef
200 gr. toast bread, ground
60 gr. milk
5 gr. oregano
10 gr. parsley, finely chopped
15 gr. cumin
3 gr. coriander

For the sauce

30 gr. olive oil
200 gr. onions, finely chopped
30 gr. garlic, finely chopped
10 gr. cumin
50 gr. tomato puree
500 gr. canned tomatoes, whole
sugar, if needed
salt

Preparation

For the minced meat mixture

Finely chop the onion. Soak and squeeze the toast bread very well.

In a bowl, mix the minced meat with the onion, bread and milk. Add the olive oil and herbs, oregano, parsley, cumin and coriander. Mix very well. We shape them in a cylindrical shape but quite far (like our finger).

Lightly flour them and fry them in hot oil until golden brown on all sides.

We remove them from the fire. Add the sauce to the olive oil of the pan and let it boil for 5 minutes. Carefully add the soutzoukaki and let them boil with the sauce for 5-10 minutes.

For the sauce

Heat the pot over medium heat, add olive oil and sweat the onions, until well softened.

Add the garlic and cumin and, as soon as they smell, add the tomato paste and stir for about 1 minute.

Add the tomatoes, bring to a boil, lower the heat, salt, add sugar, if necessary, and simmer, stirring regularly, for about 1 hour.

Enjoy your meal

Stay safe and healthy my friends and take care of your people

My best wishes from Greece
