Good morning my friends and happy July, let’s create the most easy and delicious apple pie together


For the dough:

1 flour that swells on its own (or 500 g all-purpose flour and a sachet of baking powder)
250 g milk butter
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 large egg

For the filling:
4-5 red apples, medium in size (I prefer the pink lady)
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 cup sugar (white or brown or half-half)
1 tablespoon cinnamon
A 25 cm baking tray and icing sugar for sprinkling


Preheat the oven to 175 ° C on the heating elements and lightly butter a 25 cm diameter pan.
In a bowl, mix the sugar and flour (or flour and baking powder) with a fork. Add the butter and rub by hand until crumbs form. Add the egg and vanilla and knead until a ball of dough is formed.
Divide the dough into three equal parts, let one third covered to rest on the kitchen counter or in the fridge. Spread the rest of the dough, piece by piece, with your hands on the baking tray. You will cover the whole pan and together a little from the sides to form something like a tart base.
In the same bowl, grate the apples (with or without the peel) by passing them over the thick side of the grater. Drizzle with lemon juice.
Tighten with your hands and drain to remove excess liquid and add sugar and cinnamon. Mix well and fill the pan.
Rub the remaining dough on top of the apples with your hands to form irregular crumbs. Be sure to cover the filling evenly with the dough crumbs.
Bake on the middle / lower grill for 50-60 minutes or until the surface is golden brown. Allow the apple pie to cool and sprinkle with icing sugar.
