Good morning my friends, a classic and delicious small Greek dessert for all of you today, very easy to cook , let’s try it together

Ingredients

1 cup water
• 1/2 cup margarine
• 1 pinch of salt
• 1 1/2 cups hard flour
• 6-7 eggs
• 1-2 vanillas
• 1 tbsp. sugar

For the syrup:
• 1 1/2 cup water
• 2 cups sugar
• 1/2 cup honey or glucose

Preparation

1. Put the water with the margarine and the salt in a small deep pot, on a high heat and stir until it starts to boil.
2. Remove from the heat, add the flour with the sugar and vanilla all at once and mix with a wooden spoon, about 1 minute, until the dough separates from the walls of the pot and forms a ball around the spoon.
3. Pour the dough into the bowl of the mixer and let it cool for 2-3 minutes. Beat the eggs one by one, beating with the special hook. Before adding the next egg, make sure that the previous one is well incorporated into the dough.
4. Prepare the syrup. Mix all the ingredients in a saucepan and boil for 5 minutes. Let the syrup wait.
5. Put plenty of oil (half olive oil, half corn oil) in a fryer or deep saucepan. Put the dough in a cone with a thick star-shaped tip and an opening of 1 cm. Pressing the bag, cut dough cords 5 cm long with a wet knife into the hot oil.
6. Put as much as the pot can hold and let them brown. Remove them with a slotted spoon on absorbent paper, to remove the excess oil.
7. Put them in the syrup, leave them for 5 minutes and take them out on a plate.

I really hope you enjoy this.

Stay safe and healthy my friends and take care of your people

My best wishes from Greece
