Foodbook #503 Valentine cake

Foodbook #503 Valentine cake

Good morning my friends, today I got for you a recipe for 2 , we create this yesterday and the results was pretty awesome.

Let’s start

2 empty cans of 400 gr. (from tomatoes for example), well rinsed and dried,
1 tablespoon sunflower oil or corn oil + extra for spread,
4 tablespoons plain yogurt (not strained),
1 egg yolk,
Or a teaspoon of vanilla,
3 tablespoons full of sugar,
1 small pinch of salt,
5 tablespoons plain flour,
2 tablespoons cocoa,
1/4 teaspoon baking powder,
½ teaspoon baking soda,
3. Spoons of hot coffee.

4 tablespoons melted butter,
1 tablespoon gooseberry or strawberry jam,
1/4 teaspoon you vanilla,
1-2 drops of red pastry color (optional),
some milk.

Step 1
Lightly grease the inside of the cans (with an oiled paper towel for example) and coat the bottom with non-stick grease.

Step 2
Then, coat the sides so that it protrudes about 2-3 cm above the perimeter of the surface for easy demoulding (fasten them if you want at the top with staples to stand).

Step 3
Beat the oil with the yogurt, yolk, vanilla, sugar and salt in a bowl.

Step 4
In another mix the salt, cocoa, baking powder and baking soda.

Step 5
Then, sift the mixture of solids into the mixture of liquids (pass them through a strainer) and mix them with a spoon to mix.

Step 6
Finally, stir in the hot coffee.

Step 7
Divide the mixture into two cans (spoon in one and spoon in the other so that the quantities are equal) and bake the cakes in the oven for about 20-30 minutes or until a skewer in the center comes out dry (can has some cake crumbs, but not a liquid mixture).

Step 8
Leave the cakes to cool in the cans and then put them in the fridge for 1 night (to cut them easily).

Prepare the filling:

Step 1
Beat the butter with the jam and vanilla until it becomes a smooth mixture and if it is too tight, add a teaspoon of milk at a time, until it gets the right texture and spreads easily.

Step 2
If you want it to have a more intense color, add 1-2 drops of red pastry color.

Step 3
If you want, put the mixture in a pastry cone or you can spread it with a knife with a wide blade.

Step 4
Take the cakes out of the cans and with a sharp knife cut a thin slice from the top to flatten the top surface.

Step 5
Then cut them into 3 identical slices.

Step 6
Take out with the cornea or spread with the knife a strong layer of filling on the washers and set them in "three-storey" towers on plates.

Step 7
If you have leftover filling, garnish the dishes with small rosettes.

Be careful about the doses and you will be in love with this.

Stay safe and healthy my friends and happy Valentine’s Day

My best wishes from Greece
