Is Electroneum still a good investment?

I have been invested in Electroneum (ETN) since ICO and I have to say  that although I am impressed with all the project has done in the crypto space, I (like many) am far from impressed with the coins price. For me it has so far been a poor investment and not lived up to its initial hype.

However I still have hopes for this project for the following reasons:

(1) It is definitely not a scam as Richard Ells has a few other successful projects in the IT arena and Electroneum is still delivering many great things including expansion of Mobile and Electricity topups along with pursuing more Exchanges and getting their finger into many other pies such as gaming.

(2) As a business it is still making strides. Richard does not need the price to grow as they can generate income from small marginal charges in the large volumes of transactions using the ecosystem but he says that he would obviously like it to. That would be another signal of success of the project.

(3) Their freelance market will continue to grow as will mass adoption of the ecosystem as it is good for the target unbanked market they are targetting.

My fears are:

(1) There are a multitude of crypto projects out there and many trying to do the same thing as ETN. If it continues to slide down the Crypto Market cap rankings it may start to lose its edge and appeal to investors (who are still required to maintain any upward price movement).

(2) The simulated mobile mining was a big hit and with that gone many have lost interest in the project as other cryptos offer staking to earn passive income and others can attract interest on sites like Crypto.com and Celsius. So far there is no passive income any longer for ETN investors (and lack of upward price movement only makes this issue worse).

Conclusion:

Hopefully long term this project can attract 10s of millions of ACTIVE users and price will start to go up (especially as we are at the beginning of a bull market).

Not really a big reader but interested in crypto

My Cryptocurrency Journey (Part 1)
My Cryptocurrency Journey (Part 1)

I started in cryptocurrency in June 2017 when the last bull run was in its final 6 months big run up (although I didnt realise that at the time). My portfolio of about £3000 had reached a total of approx £27000 but unfortunately I didnt cash out so this is presently (5/1/20) worth 50% of my original investment but I am hoping an upturn is underway and I will be back in a profit. I will in next part give some thoughts and tips for newbies (who dont intend to learn technical analysis and day trade).
