Crypto Projects for February 2022

By TS90 | My Crypto Failure | 26 Jan 2022

Introduction

I usually write about play-to-earn games but I have come across so many great crypto projects and airdrops recently and want to share them with my readers even though they´re not all in the play-to-earn space.

Cosmos Airdrops & the Cosmos Ecosystem

Not an individual project but still the biggest hope for my crypto portfolio at the start of 2022.

I have owned and staked ATOM, the token of the Cosmos ecosystem, for a couple of months now and I have always liked their goal of connecting various blockchains. While the performance of ATOM was average and the staking rewards are OK but not great, my main source of return on investment comes from airdrops in the Cosmos ecosystem.

The most recent one, the Stargaze airdrop of STARS tokens, is currently worth almost 1,700$ and has been increasing for days. On top of the price increase, the staking and LP rewards are great.

Visit https://app.stargaze.zone/airdrop to see if your wallet is eligible for this airdrop.

In addition to this airdrop, there is a plethora of airdrops either ongoing or scheduled in the Cosmos ecosystem. For a detailed overwiew, check out https://cosmosuplink.web.app/airdrops.

Usually, the requirement is to have staked at least 5 ATOM to a non-CEX validator at the snapshot date but some airdrops require you to hold other coins from the Cosmos ecosystem like JUNO or OSMO.

Apart from these airdrops, discovering Osmosis was a major revelation for me.

Osmosis is a decentralized exchange in the Cosmos ecosystem and describes itself as “the interchain automated market maker”.

Osmosis helps you to put all your Cosmos tokens to work by staking them or providing liquidity to LPs.

While it mostly does the same as any other CEX, just in the Cosmos ecosystem, the user experience with Osmosis is simply phenomenal. I try out multiple blockchain applications per day and I have never before been this happy about the user experience of an application.

If you decide to get some ATOM and hunt those airdrops, be sure to give Osmosis a try!

Islander

Islander is by far the most interesting non-gaming project I have found in the last couple of days.

There is currently an airdrop going on through which you can get $ISA tokens and get to know the Islander platform. My referral link will lead you directly to the airdrop and I am happy to help you out if you are stuck at any point; feel free to get in touch with me via Twitter.

Islander is an online learn-to-earn and a decentralized platform to manage and market your own projects in a unique way. Project owners (crypto project managers, influencers, content creators) can quickly engage their audience’s attention and nurture them in the long term by giving out interesting and interactive quests as well as tradable NFT items, which are either pre-made by the platform or customized by its users.

Basically, Islander connects crypto projects with early adopters and influencers and lets projects reward these early adopters for achieving predefined tasks for the project.

I have just finished their airdrop tasks and everything on the platform worked extremely well. It is not as great as my experience with Osmosis that I have mentioned above but still a very good UX.

If you always wanted to get involved with a crypto project at an early stage, Islander seems to be the perfect platform for you. You can get to know the platform by participating in their airdrop which also utilizes Islander´s task system.

Likewise, if you are launching a crypto project you can use Islander to build a base of early adopters and get in touch with Influencers.

Dogefellas

This list wouldn´t be complete without mentioning a few play-to-earn projects I am currently looking into.

Dogefellas caught my eye mainly because of the great 1920s style graphics but I am also very much looking forward to the two games they have in the pipeline.

Since I have given a short overview already here, I am not going into much detail now. Basically, they are building an Among Us and Werewolf-inspired play-to-earn game in a Mafia-style environment.

The main update since my last article is that Dogefellas have launched their founders token sale on AtomicHub and I have already bought one.

I need to mention here that the team has not managed to get whitelisted on AtomicHub, though. I feel comfortable enough to do so after I have interacted with the team on their Discord for a while but I realize this is not for everyone.

For additional information, I can recommend their AMA with CryptoMiners.

I will most likely write another update on this project once they have been whitelisted.

Crypto Tycoon

Another upcoming play-to-earn game I am about to invest in.

Crypto Tycoon is a play-to-earn social game collection of 1,000 CryptoTown properties as NFTs — unique digital boardgame tokens embedded on Ethereum blockchain. Trade NFT properties, negotiate in our private traderooms, earn income on your tokens from CryptoTown events, and collect a neighborhood monopoly for a treasury bounty.

Crypto Tycoon will build up a treasury from the initial NFT sale and subsequent trading fees and whenever a player manages to accumulate a “neighborhood monopoly” by buying up all the properties in a predefined neibourhood, they get a cut of the treasury.

You can find more details in their whitepaper.

To get whitelisted for their upcoming NFT sale, you need to join their Discord and interact with fellow players in order to level up. This can be seen as preparation for the actual game, which will consist of interacting with other NFT owners and trading your way up to a “neighborhood monopoly”.
