The “Rastak Band”, led by Siamak Sepehri, is an official music group in Iran to preserve and disseminate Folk music (very old local songs) in different parts of the country.
Among the Folks songs in the album "Among Eternal Suns", which was released by Rastak in 2016, some of the beauties of folk music from 7 different regions of Iran have been portrayed in shapes of audio and video.
Interestingly, even the Iranians of other provinces do not understand the meaning of the songs very well and sometimes at all, but the familiar traditional style is interesting to them. I even had to find the Persian lyrics of the song elsewhere and translate it into English.
Another interesting thing is that they always get help from a local singer in every single song. For example, in the following song called Sakineh (girl's name), which belongs to the south of Kerman province, a local singer named "Gholam Hossein Nazari" has joined the group.
Anyway, I do not know some of these musical instruments myself, if anyone is familiar with them, I will be happy to let me know! I enjoy their rhythm, the passion and joy among them, and colorful dresses. They are also trying hard to keep the girls inside the group, which I know is not an easy job to do.
They have to be extra cautious while keeping the dancing tone alive and at the same time be careful not to wake the dragon (Iranian authorities!!!) We have an expression for it in Farsi “Be careful not put foot on the lion's tail!"😏🙄
