I introduce you to the beautiful song called " You’re like cloudy velvet " by Khashayar Etemadi. I listened to this song a lot during my trips before become a nature creature and I still remember those days.
I used to listen to this song, believing it to be about natural elements like clouds, spring, earth, grass, and so on… but as I listen to it now and translated it to English, I just realized how badly I was wrong about this “LOVE SONG”.
Such strong and beautiful metaphors and Similes are used in this poem.

I can imagine that Iranian artists and poets, due to the restrictive and strict Islamic culture, are forced to bring romantic and sexy words in the form of beautiful metaphors of nature in their poems.
Do not miss the last verse of the poem, the hidden unbelievable, and sexy metaphor about your lover! I have read this poem for years and did not understand these metaphors! I'm such an idiot!🙄🤣
“You’re like cloudy velvet”
I am the spring, you are the earth
I am the earth, you are the tree
I am the tree, you are the spring

The caress of your rainy fingers turns me into a garden
And wandering in the woods overwhelms me

You are as big as the night
If it is moonlight or not
You are as great as the night
You’re moonlight
You’ve been moonlighting all alone
You’re like the night, deep and vast
Like the night itself!

And even if the day arrives
You are as clean as the dew
You're like the morning itself!

You're like cloudy velvet
You're like the smell of grass
Like that soft mist, such soft mist
Hesitated because of the scent of grass
You are hesitant to stay or to leave
Between life and death

You're like the snow
That even when it melts
And the mountain gets naked
You're that proud and high mountain
that smirk at the black clouds and the bad winds
