Although I'm not very interested in pop music these days, in my youth one of the few pieces of music we had access to was pop music.
As we got older and got to know the vast world, we realized that the new universe, we had no idea existed before is full of different kinds of music like rock & roll, jazz, and so on.
With the advent of the Internet, going to university, and moving away from traditional, closed, and boring life, a new world suddenly opened its doors to us. Now we had many options.
This pop song, played by my beloved and deceased singer, is one of the pop music that I was very interested in at the time. A song that expressed the pains, hopes, and desires of a generation who had no saying in what they really wanted while growing up. In Iran, they call us “the burned generation”!
Song: I’m a traveler and a Stranger
Singer: Nasser Abdollahi
One of these days,
I’ll set foot on the night
In the frame of moments
I’ll put the image of tomorrow

To heal the wounds of anxiety, at last
I’ll put the ointment of LOVE on the hearts
There is a sense of familiarity in people
Like my feelings and yours.
I’ll call it "us"

People's determination is high!
The human soul is vast!
In my poem for them, I’ll create the mountain and the sea

In the confusion of the roads, wherever it is not pretty
I’ll close my eyes and dream instead!

I am a traveler and a stranger, but full of certainty
I know, I’ll leave all behind in the love quest!
