Iranian traditional music is one of the oldest and most ancient and at the same time the most unknown music styles in the universe.
Many singers and musicians have entered this field, yet the world has no familiarity with any of them because their works have been extremely traditional and domestic.
Besides, the youth in the next generations are mostly interested in pop, rock & roll, and rap music who get bored with old traditional music?
In the meantime, some famous singers of traditional music have taken a new initiative and have combined Persian traditional style with Western music and created a different style.
One of these singers is Homayoun Shajarian. His song called "Sanama " (means my ideal), a very popular poem by Rumi, is in fact, the most famous, the most daring, and the most controversial work of him in this regard.
Some traditionalists condemn this song being singed this way and consider it unholy and not tasteful.
But this song is actually a masterpiece that has made many young people inside and outside Iran know and become familiar with Iranian traditions and culture.
A poem by Rumi about love and accepting love and not avoiding it under the pretext of religion and faith. A poem that many singers have sung in various forms in traditional Persian music so far.
The producers even took upon themselves to make an animation and create a mixed situation of tradition and new music, very innovative indeed.
