Attraction of this movie are famous director Elia Kazan and actor Jack Penance. As far as mood of the movie is concerned it is usually a serious note played here. Fun is the scene of Blackie and the newspaper vendor, a pity they didn't appear in Twin Peaks. Camera is decent, environment is interesting, but the investigation, which is devoted to most of the story, is uninteresting and monotonous, movie is saved only by an interesting negative hero (his character definitely stands out and body even more) by Jack Penance performance and action at the beginning and in the end.
