Ahhh winter... cold (brrrrr!), long, dark and full of snow and ice, especially here in Canada. In the last couple of months, it's been fairly quiet with a light blanket of snow here and there but in the last week, most of Canada has gotten pummeled with a couple feet of snow. In fact, I got hit twice in as many days with more than a foot of snow on both occasions, adding to the growing pile of snow at the front of my house.
MBeing tenth generation Canadian, I can tell you that February, although the shortest month on the calendar, is also the coldest and snowiest. I am feeling quite sore from all the shoveling and snow blowing these last few days but besides that, it's a 'blast' getting that machine out. I'd be a lot sorer without my trusty snow blower.
The picture below should give you an idea what I've been having to deal with lately!
Since we're just barely past the halfway mark for this month, I'm assuming we'll get some more snow before it all starts to melt away come spring time. This time of year reminds me of when I was a kid, hoping for more snow so I could go out shoveling yards to earn some spending money. It was hard work but a lot of fun.
Snow in winter is inevitable so I don't really complain about it. There's plenty to do in winter. Skating and skiing come to mind. So does a good snow ball fight. One thing that does make it a little tough is the high electricity and gas usage during these long, dark and cold months. That's another thing that's inevitable, so no use complaining about that either.
Fortunately, spring really is just around the corner! In the meantime, here's a video short, walking on the sidewalk in front of my house to give you a really good view of just how much snow we've been getting. Please like the video to help it gain more traction. Thanks, Everyone!
Looks like I have to go out and shovel some more snow. We got another inch or so overnight :-(
