I was already awake. It was my day off. I was at home. The house phone rang. I checked the caller ID before answering. It was a coworker.
He said, "Dude! How did you know?"
I said, "Know what?"
He said, "Turn on the TV!"
I said, "What channel?"
He said, "It doesn't matter."
I turned on the TV and watched the jet hit the second tower.
He said it again, "Dude! How did you know?"
I said, "I told you when I told you this would happen. They are going to destroy the Twin Towers."
A few hours later the buildings had fallen and he called me again repeating himself.
He said, "Dude! How did you know?"
I didn't know when it would happen, but during a conversation at work a few months previously the topic of terrorism had come up and he had asked me for my opinion on the likelihood of a terrorist attack on American soil. I had told him that sometime within five years there would be a major event. I said that airlines would be hijacked and crashed into the White House, Capitol Building, Pentagon and World Trade Center. I specifically said that the World Trade Center would be destroyed. I predicted that because of the failure to completely destroy the tower in the first bombing the next effort would be doubled to take down both of the Twin Towers for maximum effect.
He called me that day wanting to know how I had reached that conclusion. There wasn't much more I could tell him.
My answer?
"I read a lot."
I had read a lot about the first bombing of the World Trade Center in 1993 and the bombing of the Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City in 1995. Subsequently I learned of Project Bojinka (AKA the Bojinka Plot) which was allegedly uncovered by a 1995 FBI raid of Islamic terrorists in the Philippines.
Project Bojinka is reported to involve a plot to place bombs on American planes in the Middle East and detonate them over the Atlantic Ocean. However, what is omitted from the majority of reporting is that the Bojinka files were reported at the time (1995-1996) by a handful of journalists to also contain alternative plans to hijack domestic airlines in the USA and crash the jets into a list of targets which included the Pentagon and World Trade Center.
I reckoned that the people responsible for the 1993 bombing were intent on finishing what they had started, and the United States intelligence community was going to allow it to happen.
Why would they allow it to happen?
For money and power.
Money: the budget for military and intelligence services expanded to record highs.
Power: the passage of the Patriot Act expanded government power and surveillance.
What's more, by the time I had first formulated that prediction and expressed it to a coworker willing to listen to crazy conspiracy theory talk, I had also learned about Operations Gladio, COINTELPRO, Northwoods, and a few dozen others which clearly demonstrate how the powers-that-should-not-be are more than willing to murder thousands of innocent people to achieve their goals of more money and power.
It was not the first time that I had made a big, crazy sounding prediction and been proved correct, but it was the most astounding. Though, to me, it just seemed like common sense. But, then, I do an uncommon amount of reading.
Until next time, Moonbats, keep your eyes open and on the fine print!
