Algorand - Rewards - Changing- Update
Important information for Algorand holders.
Algorand rewards are currently paid daily but, this will be changing to quarterly (every three months). I do not hold huge amounts of Algorand but, for people who do may decide to sell their holdings as rewards will not compound daily. I was notified by coinbase about it. But, not everyone has a coinbase account and may not be aware it is changing.
During the transition period holders may be paid rewards daily and quarterly it is expected to change in early 2022.
But, what if I sell my Algorand before the rewards are paid ?
You will still be paid for the period that you held it.
Why is it charging ?
It is changing because the Algorand community voted for it. So the whales are likely in favour of the change. I doubt it will have much influence on the value of Algorand
