GoVoteX Infinity: A Voting App That Wants to Change More Than Voting
Part One: From Secure Voting to Government Accountability
The conventional understanding of election technology is relatively straightforward: make voting secure, verify the results, and determine who wins. GoVoteX Infinity proposes something considerably broader.
According to its creator, Michaelson Williams, the project began on December 2, 2020, with an objective that extended beyond preventing voter fraud. The stated goal was to create a system through which the public could exercise a more direct form of oversight over government officials.
The project's central tagline is blunt: **“WE Facilitate Getting Bad Actors Out of Government.”**
That proposition changes the conversation. Rather than treating an election as a periodic event in which voters choose representatives and then largely relinquish direct control until the next election, GoVoteX Infinity envisions government accountability as an ongoing process.
At its foundation is what the project calls **“Secure People Voting.”** The proposed application is designed to provide users with a digital voting environment accessible through phones and computers. The project's documentation describes the use of directed acyclic graph (DAG) technology, specifically the Millix network, as part of its underlying infrastructure.
The concept also introduces a significant departure from traditional voting cycles. Rather than waiting for a scheduled election, GoVoteX Infinity proposes that voters could initiate a process to evaluate whether a government official should remain in office.
That mechanism is not presented as an unrestricted instant recall. The project's updated model describes a preliminary process that would require community participation, including a pre-vote session and a threshold vote before an official “Out Vote” process could begin. The stated purpose is to give government employees an opportunity to establish a record while creating a mechanism for the public to challenge continued service when performance becomes unacceptable.
This is where GoVoteX Infinity moves beyond being simply another voting application.
Its underlying philosophy is that **voting alone may not constitute accountability**. A representative can be elected, serve a term, and ultimately face voters again years later. GoVoteX Infinity instead proposes a system in which continued public service would depend upon ongoing confidence from the people being represented.
Williams describes this as putting the public back into the role of checks and balances.
There are, however, substantial questions surrounding such a model. How would eligibility be established? Who determines whether an allegation warrants a vote? How would constitutional protections, due process, existing recall laws, election regulations, cybersecurity requirements, and jurisdictional differences be handled? And perhaps most importantly, could a decentralized voting system actually translate into legally enforceable changes in government offices?
Those questions do not necessarily invalidate the concept. They demonstrate the scale of what is being proposed.
GoVoteX Infinity is not merely attempting to redesign the voting booth. It is proposing a different relationship between citizens and the people who hold public office.
**Part Two will examine the project's proposed mechanics, accountability structure, economic model, and the difficult question at the center of the entire experiment: how could a system designed to give The People more direct power actually operate within the existing American governmental framework?**
