By CryptoWordsmith | Mixed Bag | 15 Jul 2020

Did you buy an iPhone previously and experience performance issues after you installed a software update? Apple has admitted to slowing down older devices with the software, but said it only did so to "prolong the life" of the devices. A class action lawsuit was launched against Apple, and it has now been resolved.

US customers are eligible for a claim for roughly $25 if they purchased one of the following phones before December 21, 2017:

  • iPhone 6
  • iPhone 6 Plus
  • iPhone 6s
  • iPhone 6s Plus
  • iPhone 7
  • iPhone 7 Plus
  • iPhone SE

A website has been set up for individuals who would like to submit a claim:

The deadline for claim submissions is Tuesday, October 6, 2020.  Customers in other countries are not eligible.
