What a question...

These days I hear more and more cases of people who meet through the Internet, now mainly through applications and social platforms. One more use of technology in our life.

Well, we know that in many cases the users of the apps are not all looking for the same thing, and many are not exactly thinking about finding a soul mate or the love of their life, it is a more "pragmatic" matter, let's say.

But this is not always the case, and sometimes simply without having any purpose in mind we share messages with another user through the screen. There are many sites and social media apps where many people meet other people, follow each other on other networks, comment, etc. People there just share little moments but what happens when the intensity and frequency of the messages increase?

Sometimes it happens, just without trying anything, someone writes to you and you answer, you like what that someone writes, you laugh, and you answer again, and again, and so over time a kind of routine is almost created with someone who isn't really there. Can this work?

There are cases of everything. We have heard cases that seem like fairy tales 2.0 that have been known and then... they lived happily, and that's the end of the story. And there are also other stories that have ended really badly, due to the naivety of one part and the bad faith of another.

What do we do? What your heart dictates but carefully. I must admit that many years ago I had an experience that arose unexpectedly and that over time seemed to turn into a lovely movie, traveling to other places and wanting to change my life in the most sincere way, but in the end it became a kind of long somewhat dramatic soap opera, with suspense in time and with an ending, not as I imagined.....

That's life, they are experiences that teach us lessons that we have to learn, I guess. So then we don't trust anymore afterwards, well it's easy to talk to people, I like to write and meet different people and learn more, but that's all, nothing more. Then there is real life. Better to focus on this.

But what if that it happens again? Many many years later… is it possible? Without looking for it or wanting further implications, it almost happens without realizing it. Again the mystery, the distance and this time the mistrust. Two voices in the head that whisper in the opposite way: "come on, it's not the same situation" or instead, "forget it, you know what will happen"...

Another chance? Don't know. In a skeptical and more analytical way, I think that something is missing in these virtual worlds, that real part that connects us, but if we let ourselves go or if we allow ourselves to dream a little, you think, why can't something like this happen?

As I said before, there are stories with a happy ending and many others that have ended with a broken heart, surely we all know some... the question is when it is you who must decide what to do. Being the protagonist of another story or letting the moment pass?

There are those who believe in destiny and that things happen for a reason. There are those who fully trust in free will and that we are the ones who choose our path. Can it be both?

Destiny is the cards in the deck that you have in this life, and free will how you choose to play with them. So… "alea jacta est" and good luck.
