A limiting belief overcome?

By Duvinca | The world, the life & me | 7 Aug 2021

Throughout life it is normal to find obstacles in front of us, also challenges and problems. Sometimes we are aware of it but other times we are not. In those other cases, we do not do something because we already think it is impossible, that it has nothing to do with us and why think about it. How many chances of learning and being successful are we missing?

For example, we may not try to do something not because we can't but because we haven't even thought about it... there is already something inside of us that tells us: "ufff, that's not for you, you don't know anything about it, it's going to be impossible because you can't, because you don't know, because you don't have time, because you don't have money, because you don't have capacity, because you don't have talent, because you don't have support, etc..." There is always an excuse or a "limiting belief" as it is often called and keep us always in our "comfort zone".

Limiting beliefs are thoughts, opinions that one believes to be the absolute truth. They tend to have a negative impact on one's life by stopping them from moving forward and growing on a personal and professional level.

Limiting beliefs are false beliefs that prevent us from pursuing our goals and desires.

It has happened to me like many others, recently I have realized it with the cryptocurrencies world that I knew absolutely nothing about a year ago. I did not understand anything, not even the words and concepts that are used, it seemed to me something related to finances and computers, subjects that were not very interesting to me, despite the fact that I like many different things. But everything related to the digital world and trading? yes that, trading... It did not catch my attention and I thought (wrongly) that it had nothing to do with me. I simply BELIEVED that it was a complex world and that I was not going to understand anything, much less be able to win something.

But why not?
I started with the basics (well I'm still at it), with simple things, in fact, one of the first things I did to get familiar was to sign in Publish0x because if I like to read and write, could it be an interesting way for me to start?
Little by little I knew Odysee or Noise.cash, and Coinbase or Binance, hey you can earn a little bit without being an expert. But you can also learn, I like to learn so the most used concepts were ringing more and more to me: wallet, exchange, hold, trading, staking, faucets, airdrops, etc. And with Coinbase Earn and Coinmarketcap Earn especially, I started with the well-known quizzes or tests with which you knew and you won some new currency without much difficulty, and I have even been discovering and winning some airdrops!

**Who was going to tell me last summer that I would be in this whole crypto world that I understood absolutely nothing about.**

Have I then overcome that belief of mine that all this was not for me?
-Well, partly yes, having taken a first step, and then another, having continued to show interest, reading the comments of others with more experience, in addition to blogs, video tutorials and telegram groups (where I have also made friends) makes me see I've made a breakthrough.
-But partly not, as it usually happens, whenever you learn something, you discover that you know nothing, that there is much more, and I am aware that I still have a lot to read, see and do. I have pending lessons... one of them was to acquire and use a cold wallet (I guess you all know what it is).

And despite my zero knowledge, I got a Ledger Nano S to start with all this. When it arrived I got nervous, I preferred to wait before doing anything, I started to read the entire Ledger website and its instructions, in addition to listening to many with more experience and watching some simple video tutorial for people like me who have never used one.

I let it sit for a couple of days, and then I got to it. With some tension in case I could do something wrong, I did the whole configuration process, step by step, slowly and with good handwriting (it is necessary to write the 24 words well!), and finally I made a deposit with a knot in my stomach thinking "what if it I do wrong what happens?" But I also thought: "I have read everything and it is quite clear how to do it".

Actually, after so much drama, I realized that, as in almost everything, in the end it is not that difficult! But we get that idea in our minds, when in reality, everything with some idea, calm and confidence ends up coming out. I have realized this with all this experience, so my learning has been double, and I am happy, at my own pace without haste but without pause I will continue on that path with clearer ideas, with more confidence and overcoming limiting beliefs.

We have to rethink well what we want and our thoughts, because you never know, and what you thought impossible to achieve is not so much, and even with perseverance and enthusiasm, you end up liking it! You just need an open mind, curiosity and a desire to always keep learning.
