I voted for the formation of the Autonomy Kick-Off Group in a process was both amazing and innovative. This time was a top election process, more complex than the standard snapshots
The Index Coop thrives for perfection and some hot topics were born related to autonomy. This autonomy must create better communication between the stakeholder groups and the solution was the creation of a cross-functional team. The Autonomy Kick-Off group will drive Index Coop to autonomy and will lead the process in the Coop's best interest. This leadership framework will identify and integrate organizational initiatives while coordinating the development process.
All stakeholders participated in the Autonomy Roadmap, including Index Coop contributors, Set Labs and DeFi Pulse, to nominate members for the group. The voting will use single transferable vote to promote more representative, equitable and fair results. I had to request the password code and log in with my Owl ID as part of the voting process.
The Voting
The Core Team nominees where Dark Forest Capital, Verto, Lemonade Alpha and Big Sky. I voted my favorite and moved to the Community nominees voting.
The community nominees were Matthew Graham, JD Cook, Thomas Hepner, Fallow8, Pepperoni Joe, Kiba and Defi Jesus. For this vote I could chose two nominees, in my order of preferences.
Vox populi, vox dei!
The voice of the people is the voice of the gods! The results were shared few days after the votes. Forty-five participants voted and the election used rank order voting/STV 1 to determine a winner. Rank order voting removed the nominees who did not receive enough votes in a progressive way. If the voter first choice was eliminated, than his vote will be transferred to his second option until only two nominees will remain.
The voting results page had excellent visual representations for the votes. The Core Team nominees were Dark Forest Capital (Red), Verto (blue), Lemonade Alpha (yellow) and Big Sky (Green). The core team position was won by Dark Forest Capital and Big Sky was second.
The Community nominees were Matthew Graham (Red), JD Cook (blue), Thomas Hepner (yellow), Fallow8(Green), Pepperoni Joe (Purple), Kiba (Orange), and Defi Jesus (red) while Overanlayser withdrew from the election. The two winners where Matthew Graham and Pepperoni Joe.
The method of voting was impressive, and all the results were so tight. This is what a true DAO looks like ... with transparency and drama. Month after month, Index Coop is becoming more important in my preferences and I am thankful for the opportunity to enhance my knowledge!
The two weeks returns for $1000 invested in Index products, between 18th of July and the 1st of August, is outstanding. BED had 35.5 improvement, while both 2x leverage products doubled the value. The Metaverse Index (MVI) had 70% raise, showing that NFTs and blockchain games are still trending. Will you join the Index Coop or you still think fiat money is the solution?
"Vox populi" giveaway
This giveaway will have a twisted voting system. Publish0x participants must leave their .wam and chose either Standard #IndexOwl or the Legendary Owl. Twitter participants must follow @Index Coop, like, share and comment their WAX wallet and chose either Standard #IndexOwl or the Legendary Owl. The votes from Twitter will count double due to the difficulty of the task.
The votes from both platforms will be counted and the winning option will decide the prize(s). If the majority wants the Legendary Owl than one #NFT will be available for the lucky draw, in which will participate only those whom voted for the legendary NFT. If the majority will chose the Standard #IndexOwl, then 5 NFTs will be distributed by lucky draw, selected from those that voted for the standard NFT. May the odds be ever in your favor!
