Recently we have all heard and seen news of this global RAM shortage.
Most news stories are vague. They tell you it's the AI data centers. They admit it's AI. They won't say who.
The thing is; they get money from Microsoft so they won't report damage to that brand.
Microsoft and OpenAI did it.
[Microsoft and Oracle funded] OpenAI snagged two (historically bad for us) RAM deals.

For the first time in history, current gen consoles cost more than they did when they released. The tariffs didn't help, and this artificial shortage will light that heap into a dumpster fire. Your Xbox will be worth a used Car. It already cost near that much. They can cut out competition like Valve with their SteamOS machines by starving them out of RAM. Sony and Nintendo will likely be fine. It will be interesting to see how Gabe handles the shortage at Valve with the new projects.

Many phones may end up just having less RAM too. This is intentional. It is so you can't run models locally. Google is their competition. They want you to use GPT on Microsoft or Oracle Cloud. They don't want you to have local run Gemini or ollama. Phones now cost as much as a car. We even have to make payments like a car already. They are already an overpriced wad of "smart" fragile glass waiting to be sat on, dropped, or randomly explode before you even finish making payments.

His competition, and the general population, won't have the capacity to locally run models or compete, by him artificially starving them in an illegal trust with Microsoft and Oracle. They hoard the compute and RAM so no one else can have it. It's a dystopian arms race of scam artists. Nvidia already checks your prostate to squeeze every penny on RAM from the customer. They didn't need help. You only got one prostate.

Microsoft is pushing hard for Windows 11, aren't they? Win 11 is so bad they have to force us, and they artificially inflate prices that holiday season.

What most people don't realize too is that things such as Cars have RAM now too. Cars are already too expensive and fall apart on the first day in a dystopian fashion. I intentionally drive and buy old cars so that I make it from point a to point b.
Most appliances and conveniences, we take for granted, will now inflate on a death spiral.
