The Hoka One One Speedgoats have become my new favourite trail shoes. There are a few negatives but seems positives out way them.

They are super comfortable and have serious marshmallow cushioning the uppers are single overlay with no irritating seams or overlays so it makes for a comfortable fit. The Vibram outer sole give super grip and can handle any terrain with confidence as well as giving a soft comfortable ride whether you mid foot strike or even heal strike just awesome cushiness. I would have liked the width of both the sole platform and uppers to be slightly wider but it works ok.

Make sure you get at least half size up though as it does have a narrow fit. They are not the best looking shoes but they certainly make up with functionality.

They have a 5mm drop which I find to be just the perfect amount for me. Always make sure you fit these on before buying. They may not be for you. It does take a little while to get used to different ride Hoka gives and may have to adjust running style slightly before benefiting from the positives the Hoka show offers. Also make sure you run in them a good few weeks before doing a race in them.

All in all Hoka has certainly become one of my top 3 brands for trail and road shoes. Just easier on the knees and joints. I love a comfortable ride but that's just me and everyone is different.

PROS

  1. Comfortable, soft stretch single layer upper.
  2. Max cushioned out sole.
  3. Vibram super grip out sole
  4. Huge pull tab.
  5. Improved welded overlay for better durability.
  6. Meta rocker technology propelling you forward.

CONS

  1. Narrow fit(go half size up)
  2. Short tongue
  3. No gusseted tongue

There are currently later models than this option. which apparently are even better, for the road option there is the New Rincon and for trail the new Speegoat Evo, which from other trusted reviews I have seen seem awesome, cannot wait to get my hands on those two. I have a group of trusted reviewers who I follow on various platforms, and they usually are spot on, my favourite being a guy called Ginger runner who always gives an honest review and I find his reviews to somehow sync with my thoughts on almost all running products. You can check him out on youtube here: https://www.youtube.com/user/TheGingerRunner

There are quite a few different ones I follow to get advice n running and gear. Finding ones that suite your requirements is a good idea, and follow them to get a pre-buy opinion.

I love running for various reasons, aside from the obvious benefits, like health I find it to be a place where I can free my mind from worry and clear my head, it is as much for physical health as it is mental, and it certainly generates some natural chemicals which is better than getting high on synthetics in my opinion :-)

WARNING: Running can become addictive!

Ps. This is just my personal opinion.
