Lost and Found: Reclaiming My Authorship on Publish0x

By ⚡ Daniela ⚡ | Me and Bitcoin | 14 Jun 2023

I had been an active member of Publish0x for about a month, sharing my articles on various topics related to Bitcoin. The platform had welcomed me with open arms - I received positive feedback in the form of tips, comments, and likes from the community members. Thank you all again!

However, things took a turn for the worse when I published an article titled "The Great Exchange Escape." In this post, I shared my views that exchanges aren't necessarily our friends in the world of cryptocurrency trading. Additionally, I mentioned that we should not treat tips we receive on Publish0x as ours, since they are held by a custodian until withdrawn into our own wallet.

Your Post Was Removed

To my surprise, my post was removed shortly after publishing it, with an excuse that it violated their policy against "AI-generated content". My authorship was also removed right away. Was it just a coincidence? Or was there something more sinister going on behind the scenes?

As an open Bitcoin Maximalist who believes that only Bitcoin is true hard money and other cryptocurrencies, including the tokens, created out of thin air we're getting here, are just "shitcoins," perhaps my views were not aligned with those running Publish0x who may have vested interests in promoting these other coins.

In one of my previous posts, I even stated how I converted these shitcoins to sats once in KuCoin - maybe this was another reason why I wasn't welcome here anymore.

Feeling frustrated and betrayed by what felt like censorship based on personal biases rather than genuine concerns about AI-generated content. All articles posted to Publish0x come straight from the heart - no AI can replicate human emotion or my amount of passion! Show me the AI that's a Bitcoin Maxi and gives a part of its soul into the articles like I do.

Despite everything that happened, I will continue writing about Bitcoin & blockchain-related topics, but now turned towards platforms where freedom of speech is valued above profits!

It's unfortunate because before all this happened; It seemed like such a great platform for writers looking to share their work while earning rewards at the same time! The community was warm and welcoming, feedback was constructive and helpful. I felt like I had found a home for my writing.

But now, everything has changed. It feels like Publish0x is more interested in promoting certain coins rather than fostering an environment where writers can express their honest opinions without fear of censorship or retaliation. Now I understand why there are no open Bitcoin Maxis on this platform. All quiet or removed.

As a writer, it's important for me to feel like my voice matters and that what I write has value beyond just making money. That's why I will continue seeking out platforms that prioritize freedom of speech over profits and support writers who are passionate about sharing their ideas with the world.

While Publish0x may be a great platform for some; as a Bitcoin Maximalist who believes in free expression & open discussion; it simply doesn't feel like the right fit for me anymore!

When Rules Get in the Way of Creativity

When I learned that my authorship had been revoked by Publish0x mods, I immediately reached out to their support team. After explaining that the accusations against me were unfounded, they asked me to send them a sample of my original writing as part of the re-application process: "To re-apply for authorship, send us a sample of your original writing. Specifically, send us an example of a full post that you've written and that you'd like to publish on Publish0x."

Without delay, I wrote an article and sent it in for review. The very article you just read. A few hours later, I received confirmation from Publish0x that my authorship reinstated, no apology, only a reminder about the rules.

While this experience has ended somehow positively so far, it's hard not to feel uneasy about what may happen in the future. Will there be other misunderstandings or false accusations? Only time will tell.

It appears that my last two blog posts are not showing up on my blog. It's quite puzzling that despite accumulating over 1,000 views and receiving numerous likes, there have been no tips. In order to address this discrepancy, I have reached out to the support to inquire about the possibility of removing and republishing those specific posts. Currently, I'm patiently awaiting a response that will hopefully shed some light on this unusual situation.

How do you rate this article?
