Untamed and uninformed lands, bend
Yourself to my loving endeavors;
In turn, I’ll give you meaning and
Purpose, so that you’re not alone.
Oh, Blistering Wilderness of
Tremendous Suffering and Pain,
Grant me the will and strength to stand
So that I may savor your soul.
Fields of grasses, trees, and seeds,
Bestow upon me your wisdom;
Afford my withering form the
Eternal essence of your life.
Rolling hills of green, embolden
My being, strengthen my heart with the
Natural labors you provide:
I ask you this out of respect.
Canyons deep and wide, reveal
To me the profound mysteries
That you hold in your ancient being;
For they’ll help me achieve my dreams.
Prodigious and Mighty Mountain,
Perpetually demonstrate to
Me how minuscule my being is,
But know that you will fade in time.
All of you, at once, I can hold
In my hand, shape, manipulate
And bend to my heart’s desire;
But without you, I am nothing.
I bow my head to you, for you’ll
Always change, and remain the same.
