JoJo Fridays are here! Episode 3 of JoJo Steel Ball Run is now available and it's great! Even though it's only been a week, considering there were months between Episodes 1 and 2, the animation quality remains excellent, even with weekly releases.

I believe the studio (David Production) may have made some extra episodes or already had something ready, because there are many different details and effects in this episode, especially the first appearance of a Stand in Steel Ball Run and the first Stand User abilities revealed.

Something you'll be impressed by in this episode are the abilities, a unique trademark of Hirohiko Araki. It's not something straightforward like what usually happens in shounen anime with an energy cannon or super strength; there are conditions and a whole context for the ability to work. Let's talk a little more about that!

I'll be much appreaciated if you Votes, Reblogs or give any Tips. Thanks and have good reading! 🍀

First STAND of JoJo Steel Ball Run Controls IRON!

The episode begins with Johnny Joestar resting with Gyro in a makeshift camp in the middle of the desert. Time has advanced since episode 2, where they had their fight; they must have ridden a bit more on horseback and then taken a break for the horses and themselves to rest.

Suddenly, a stranger arrives on horseback, who has some kind of injury and, despite warnings, keeps getting closer, asking for help. Gyro ends up agreeing to help as long as he keeps his distance, but when Gyro gets close and comes into contact with the blade that has the stranger's blood on it, who tried to remove the poison, the "Andrew Boom Boom" ability is activated.

Notice that he needed to hurt himself, pretend to have a problem, throw the knife with the blood, and count on someone contacting him for the ability to work, something very Araki-esque. The ability caused blades to appear at Gyro's feet and metal objects to start moving towards him, in other words, an ability to control iron.

The person who identified this ability and also knew the type of animal that originated the venom, and has been paying attention to the route and plants, is Johnny Joestar. While Gyro solves everything by throwing the ball around, Joestar uses a bit more reasoning. Johnny also noticed that there were other participants named Boom Boom, and a curious detail is that when the other two members got closer, the iron control effect became stronger and stronger.

It is at this moment, when the family reunites and Andrew stands up, that we have the first appearance of a Stand in the Steel Ball Run anime, which had the appearance of a lizard. Johnny and Gyro manage to escape, as Gyro's attacks weren't very effective and he was injured, but Andrew's blood ends up touching Johnny, and it seems this will have an effect in the future.

Another ability that was revealed is Mountain Tim's ability to send parts of his body through the rope, but no Stand with him has appeared. One of the Boom Boom family members was surprised and said, "You were cursed too?", leading us to interpret that a curse grants power to Stand users.
