I am going to admit that my recent YouTube ban got me feeling a little down... and wondering if it is worth to put energy into recording videos again. I felt sad for the hours of work lost but most importantly for losing all the great friendships and connections that I had made with other YouTuber users. All gone, in a matter of seconds, with a click of a button that was completely out of my control. I certainly wished I had made the move to LBRY a lot sooner!

In my case, timing was everything. My strikes happened when I was on vacation, not very alert to my email communications and by the time I was back from vacation I had no access to to uploads anymore. My account was simply gone leaving me no option to appeal. I could have tried to rescue my account a little harder. But once this happened I lost my TRUST in YOUTUBE, and no longer saw it as a safe outlet for my content. It was truly irrelevant for me to even try.
After being censored on YouTube many friends and colleagues in the industry encouraged me to give few DECENTRALIZED platforms a try. And after researching few, and seeing many of my friends flourishing within the LBRY Platform, I decided to jump right in. Hope to learn the LBRY ropes and eventually move towards expanding into others decentralized video platforms as well.
For now on LBRY I created two channels, one focusing on Crypto content in English called MammyCrypto and another focusing on Crypto Content for Portuguese Speakers Called MamãeCrypto. I will make sure to upload many of my passed videos, as I did keep a personal copy of those. Excited to create new content too starting with our Mommin' It Mondays series featuring @LitecoinLisa.
For a quick review, it has been only few days since I joined the LBRY and so far great experience. I find it intuitive and quite rewarding as my number of LBC incentives keep on growing despite the fact that I have not developed I following yet. 2 years on YouTube equals 0 income, while 2 days in LBRY already equates to 52 LBC worth $1.50 today. Not bad!
Navigating the interface is fairly easy, uploading videos is a simple process and there is no minimums to start earning. It is interesting how content creators can also set a price for their content and can control profitability.
All I can say is I wish I had tried a bit sooner and hope that others will have this same realization without having the disappointing experience of being banned from YouTube. Excited to make up for the time and energy lost.
