Hi everyone, if you haven't downloaded and installed the latest version of the Brave browser I recommend you do to so. But before doing so make sure is to install the correct version of the app if you are interested in earning some Basic Attention Tokens (BAT) for browsing. Because I did not know this small detail I downloaded an outdated version and the ads were not popping up. Last night I finally learned I had a problem with my download and this small simple step might be a solution for many.

First download the latest version of the Brave Browser here 

Once downloaded run the installer located in your downloads folder. Once the program is intalled you can open it and start browsing. You should land on the page below. But if not make sure to type Brave.com on the search box.

Note the BAT symbol to the right of the search box. Click on it to gain access your rewards page. 

Click on rewards settings to adjust settings and make sure you are able to watch ads and receive (BAT) rewards. 

Turn Ads option On by sliding it to the right. Once you do so you should be able to adjust the frequency of the ads. From 1 ad up to 5 ads per hour. Once you set your frequency the first ad should pop up and will at the frequency you requested or less. 

If you are not able to see the frequency box it is a sign that you may need to restart the browser. Specially if you ran an older version previous to this one. Closing and re-opening the browser fully should solve the problem. It happened to me and because I did not know this detail I missed 2 days of earnings and was starting to think Brave ads was simply not working for me. Luckily once I realized it was an easy troubleshoot.

In an event you take all these steps and you still do not receive the pop up ads I do recommend  downloading other versions of the Brave browser to make sure that your Brave Browser has the complete update. Here are all the Brave Browser version available at their site. I am currently running On Brave Official, but I did have to re-install the app a second time and re-open after its last update in order for the ads to work. I personally have not tried the other versions of Brave, but I do see the benefit of downloading Nightly and being on the top of its updates as well as downloading the Dev version and contribute to the development of the Browser.
