You only make a loss if you sell - Keeping perspective.

Hi, bit of a boring one here with no images but quite an important message, hopefully you agree.

In this article I want to share my views on the term ‘you only make a loss if you sell’. I live by this phrase (I have had to given the crypto market conditions of late :-) ) and believe it is absolutely on point however, it MUST be kept in perspective especially for those looking to hold an investment medium-long term through market cycles.

The phrase ‘you only make a loss if you sell’ becomes extremely dangerous if the investor does not follow the project/company in which they have either invested in stocks or company in which they have purchased crypto from.

During a bear market the vast majority of crypto assets lose value however, it is the fundamentals which should be the deciding factor as to buy the dips, hold or sell at a loss. Whilst the decision to sell at a loss is extremely difficult it is far better to make a loss than lose everything, holding an asset which has no fundamental indicators which lend themselves towards a change in losing trend. Use Bitcoin by way of an example, if an individual were to purchase $BTC around it’s ATH back in 2017 they would be sitting in a loss for the last several years however, this is when it becomes paramount to focus on market trends and fundamentals before making decisions.

TIP: If you are going to take influence from anyone be sure to do extensive research on that individual because this can actually be a far riskier tactic than simply buying an asset without doing any research.

DISCLAIMER: Nothing written should be taken as investment advice as these are my own views and opinions.
