Hey guys, hope you are feeling good today :D
To move on where we left off in the last post, we should probably talk about one of the most important thing when it comes to making big life decisions. That is friends and family support! This can be particularly tricky with those who are closest to you, family. Somehow most of the parents think they know what is best for there children.
Let's go back to the story, do you remember my friend from the last post? The one I accidently ran into on Instagram and it turned out he lived under the Rtanj mountain. So he invited us to come and explore the village. Our first stay was only 5 days long, we were taken away... Vrmdza village has over 40 fresh water spring, lots and lots of viewpoints, just magical.
When we returned to the city the real shock arrived. This was the point I became certain that we are on the right path... Just being in the city was so tense. Just the energy of so many people in a small space is making me nervous... I started noticing how loud everything was, how much i hear the neighbors in my building... Everything was so fast and aggressive...
In one month time we packed our stuff, painted and rented out our apartment and finished all we needed in the city. The only problem was that we only had a few days left in our apartment and we still couldn't find a house to rent in the village. Just as things started to look hopeless a funny thing happened... As we sat at our balcony a pure white pigeon came to us, he stayed around for a couple of days giving us hope! All of a sudden a message came trough Facebook. This guy heard that we are looking for a house. He was just finishing renovating his grandparents old house and wanted to rent, so we made a deal. We rented that house without even looking at it!
Our families taught we went insane... They looked at us like we wanted to go back in a stone age. Which was not really that far away from the truth... Hahaha, I'm just kidding. We want to get the best from both worlds. We are not going to give up electricity, internet and technology... But at the same time we will be able to grow our own organic food, have our own forest for wood, not having to answer to anybody, not depending on one source of income and of course working when we want to not when the clock says so....
Even with this explanation most of our families were not really supportive, telling us we are not made for a life in the village and that we will not survive the winter... How stupid that is! If we go back just a few generations... My great grandfather was lived in the mountains, was a lumberjack and had the best bulls in the region.
Sooo... Of course we didn't listen to anybody and we moved away! That was the best decision in my life! I feel like my life is just now beginning and I can't wait to start building our straw bale house!
