If your a Steemian, this is a new change that is great for all of us. If you have not joined Steem, it is a great site where you can earn Steemit. It's like a facebook but with crypto currency earnings capabilities.

The site has announced new software that powers Steemit which is different from the Wallet app. At this moment of time, we can just log into Steemit with all the different keys (master,active or posting keys). The master key should always be protected as the keys of the main door. 

Steemit splits into Steemit.com which is the main site where we post our ideas and do our normal replies and upvotes. The Steemitwallet is now a standalone wallet app. This update adds extra layer of security. Steem prices have gone up and many people are definitely out there to try to steal some cash from Steemit accounts. I do check their discords and see daily messages of Steemians who have their accounts hacked. 

This development I think is crucial. I once got pnished because I had been tricked into handing over my master key. Luckily I could recover my steemit account. I've learnt a lesson. Never ever use my master keys. That is the key to everysingle thing. The hacker luckily wasn't able to cash out anything before I got my account back. He powered down my account but before the first power down where the Steem was released from my account, I got my account back. Do always change your password and keep a backup in a secure place maybe in a USB. Use Anti Virus and Malwarebytes.
