The stablecoin Tether is ranked as the 3rd currency in terms of capitalization. For quite some time now it has established itself as the reference stablecoin, in particular because it is very appreciated by Chinese investors (I had already mentioned this in this article).
Moreover, it doesn't seem ready to stop its ascent because according to Mesari, the stablecoin would come to exceed 10 billion dollars of capitalization. It therefore consolidated its third place in the ranking. Nevertheless, it seems that this has not been updated on Coingecko at the time of writing.
But how far could Tether go ?
Its capitalization is now 10 times larger than the USDC, probably its biggest rival, and it does not seem to be worried by the DAI which is struggling to reach the $ 150 million capitalization.
Some say that it will soon surpass Ethereum and settle in second place in the ranking but it still seems a bit premature to me.
