The Last Days: A GameFi Concept

By Jack1976 | Tech Check Mag | 22 Jun 2023

What is your ideal blockchain game? I've been playing blockchain games since 2020, and I became more active during 2021 and 2022. I've built small online communities about NFT games, and I also give advice and tips on my YouTube channel about games that I like. Two months ago, I decided to delete many of my YouTube videos, even though they had five-digit watch time hours, and I know it would affect my channel.

Table Of Contents

  • My Ideal GameFi
  • Goal
  • Game Type
  • Game Story
  • Game Scene
  • Game Play
  • Game Tokens
  • Earning System
  • In-Game Assets
  • Side Games
  • Funding

The reason is that I wanted to shift my niche, but that is for another post because it will take too long for me to explain.

Disclaimer: I am not a game developer, crypto expert, or blockchain technology expert. All that is written here are just my assumptions. I don't know if this type of game is possible or not.

Which blockchain games have I tried so far? I have tried so many blockchain games, and here are some of them:

Axie,Splinterlands,Dragonary,My Defi Pet, Binemon, Simba Empire, Rising Star, Stardust, Battle Pets, Alien Worlds, Upland, GNO City, Dcrops, Synergy of Serra, Town Star, League of Kingdom, Gods Unchained, Nine Chronicles

I've invested in some of them, and in some, I invested but immediately pulled out when the price pumped. In others, I invested a little to activate the earning capability of the game. For the rest, I just played the free version.

If I were to develop a game, what kind of game would it be? I am a fan of computer games since I was a kid, from handheld games to game consoles to PC games. I like games with stories and games where you can compete with others.

The Last Days (or You could suggest at the comment section like " Another Boring Game" hahaha!)

Goal

The main goal is for players to have an engaging game while having the chance to earn at the same time.

The focus is to make the game valuable not based on the exchange rate of the tokens but because the game is enjoyable to play. Honestly, as I see it, blockchain games are valued based on how much their tokens cost and not because of the enjoyment the game itself brings.

Game Type

MMORPG

Technology

Blockchain and traditional gaming technology combined.

Game Story

The game happens at a time near the end of the world when everyone is trying to survive. The main purpose of your character in the game is to survive.

Game Characters

The characters in the game will be based on the human race. There will also be robots, but they will serve as enemies generated by the computer. Humans will have the option to transform themselves into cyborgs.

Game Scene

End of the World, apocalyptic.
Time: Current Earth

Gameplay

The game earns weekly through a ranking system. You have a week to earn your rank to get a reward. You can also earn by selling stuff that you've gathered, but before you can sell them, you need to be specialized in that kind of field.

Example: You want to sell armor or weapons. You need to acquire the skill of an engineer.

You can work your way freely to earn the diploma or pay the amount needed to learn that skill. After that, you can build armor from the materials that you have gathered.

Examples of raw materials are metal, hammer, etc.

There are many things that you can build and sell, like the following:

  • Medicine
  • Required Materials: Herbs
  • Required Skill: Science

The game is everyone for themselves. If they can't protect themselves, they can get looted, mugged, etc. When you're looted, the earnings you farmed from the game will be transferred to the one who successfully looted you.

When you get beaten, it will diminish the time you can play the game for you to farm rewards. You can either heal yourself by using discovered items, pay a doctor, or buy medicine, which will cost you tokens.

Game Tokens

Governance Token: This token will be backed by a currency so that no one will try to manipulate its price. This token can only be obtained by buying it from the exchange market.

Utility Token: This can be purchased and will always be used to create transactions and perform some actions within the game. This token can be bought on exchanges and can also be received through weekly rewards by opening random chests.

Rewards Token: This token is the reward you will get from the game. You cannot cash it out unless you have a governance token and a utility token to trade it. It can't be traded peer-to-peer, and you can't buy it on exchanges. After trading the rewards token, it will be converted to a governance token and will be put in your wallet.

Earning System

Rewards Through Ranking System

Requirements: Hold a Minimum Amount of Governance Token + Utility Token Depending on your level. If you want to advance, you need to add more governance tokens.

For players to rank in the game, they need to complete different missions. Initially, while the game still has few players, only the top 10% will receive a reward. But as the game progresses, the game will have a fixed 1-100 ranking system where only those who reach the top 1000 ranks will be rewarded.

Selling: Materials found can be sold in the marketplace. Anyone who needs these materials can buy them using the game's utility token. So even if your account is just free-to-play because you don't want to invest, you still have a chance to earn by selling items that might be needed by others.

Of course, the chance of your item being sold, unless it is a rare item, might not be high because everyone has a chance to farm. But why complain? You're playing the game for free, right? Hahaha!

Missions: Missions can also give you rewards, but they are very minimal. Finishing a given number of missions per day can earn you rewards tokens that can be claimed weekly so that players will not abuse the system.

Looting: You can also earn by looting other players who don't have much protection because they lack game assets. Anything that you loot will become yours, and you can cash them out through the in-game cashing out system.

Caution: Looting an equipped player can do you more harm than good. Instead of you getting loot, the circumstances could be reversed.

In-Game Assets

These are some examples of In Game Assets to help you rank:

  • Weapons: Guns, taser guns, high-tech weapons
  • Clothes: These are accessories in the game. Most accessories will be branded based on real-world brands, and these clothes can add reputation or skills to your character.
  • Vehicles: If you want to move faster, you can own a vehicle. This will also add reputation and some skills to your character.
  • Books: These items can add stats and make your learning a skill faster.
Example: Nike Running Shoes - Make you move faster Gatorade - Will decrease the speed of your energy depletion rate

Energy System

There will be an energy system that will allow you to perform tasks. If your energy is drained, you can regenerate it by staying at home, which is free, using some materials that you have gathered like food, which can also be free, or purchasing energy, which will cost you utility tokens.

Side Games

Bounty Hunt: This will be conducted by the game authorities. Every week, there is someone to hunt. The hunted will be based on how many evil deeds he has done within the week, like looting.

Gang Wars: This is like a guild battle. There is an entry fee for building and maintaining a guild. Gang leaders have the chance to summon one of their members during a PVP fight, so be careful who you're trying to fight with; he might be a gang leader.

PVP: Basic PVP fight where you battle other players. You are allowed to battle 10 times per 24 hours. This will also be a factor in the weekly rankings.

Funding

I don't want the game to solely depend on players for funds. My idea is to get sponsorship from real-world brands, and in return, their brands will be used in the game.

Players' involvement in future funds will come from in-game and transaction fees.

I really want to add more detail to this game in my head, but I think it's already too long. I hope you liked my article on how I want my blockchain game to be.
