I would like to share my thoughts about Revolut, which is a very interesting neobank.

I knew Revolut, N26, BNext an another neobanks, but recently I use a referral link from another mate of this publish0x platform (@duvinca) who encouranges us to use Revolut. I did it, and I have to say that I'm very pleasantly surprised. I'm happy for now!

Why Revolut?

First of all the process to create an account is really easy and fast. It's cool. Let's go into details.

Keep in mind, you have to use your mobile to do all the process because Revolut is focus on the mobile environment. It makes sense, because you will use your mobile for payments mainly, and it's important to have the Revolut app always available all the time.

• You have to provide your Identity Card
• you have to do a selfie
• you have to accept the terms and conditions
• you have to verify some legal things about your country taxes

and more or less is this.

You can spent no much more than 10 mins. Really cool. Super easy and it's quick.

The process is working really well and you don't have to resend the photos and whatever. And there are an agent supervising the process, so if you have any problem, they will chat you and they resolve the problems quickly. At least is my experience.

Yes, Revolut a bank, but not in old fashion way. It's something dynamic. You have your bank account with your swift code of course and you have associated your debit cards. But not only that, you have the investment part with crypto currencies and the world wide trading.

Another cool feature is you can send and receive money from the Revolut users  in an easy way. So you can forget about old style transactions setting up the target account of the receiver, here it's super easy, send a money request to your friend via message and the receiver has to accept it and that is. Super!

You can split your bills and do payment groups for your friends.

Crypto currencies! I love it, you can do whatever you do here in this part, you can handle your tokens: exchange, buy or sell. If you buy your tokens, the money goes directly to your main bank account, and you can spend this money as you did commonly.

Learn and Earn program!

I love this part. In Revolut you watch to do some videos and after that you have to answer to a few questions. If you fail, you can repeat it 5 times. The answers are really easy and the firsts lessons about polkadot you can earn €14 which is really cool!.

Sell it to have the €14 in your main account or leave it in your crypto wallet. :)

Debit card!

Revolut provides you a physical debit card to use to do withdraw money at the ATMs. You have to pay €7 to receive this card in your home.

You can use the card not only in your country otherwise in anothers country, mainly when you are travelling. Why? because the exchanging rate is really low between euros to dollar or whatever, and the first $200 are free of exchanging rate commissions.

Example, you are living in Europe and you go to USA. When you arrive on USA, you can withdraw $200 at the ATMs free of exchanging rate commissions. 

If you improve your basic plan to another better, you can withdraw $400 at the ATMs free of exchanging rate commissions. 

Plans

You can improve your Revolut basic plan to another better if you pay an amount monthly. Your can customize your debit card in these cases, and you can have the debit card for free. The basic plan is fine for starting but you have to pay €7 for your physical debit card.

The plans are getting more benefits, like travel insures and so on. You have to check it if you are going to use Revolut so much.

Starting with Revolut

Mainly step to be fully operational in Revolut

• follow the instructions and create an account.
• go to the learn and earn program to earn €14.
• Sell the polkadot to dollars or euros to have €14 in your main bank account.
• Now you have to €14, so can spend €7 to get the physical debit card.
• Use applepay or google to transfer a few dollars o euros into your account. €10 it's fine.
• add your debit card to your applepay or googlepay service to use in your mobile (super easy process)

I love this part. You can get cashback for renting rooms and not only that, the prices of the hotels comparing with booking.com sometimes are better. You can save two times, I mean, you can save more money than if you do it in booking.com and you can get cashback! really cool!

Earn up to €200 inviting to up 5 friends.

Conditions:

• follow the previous steps on starting with revolut,
• the referral has to do at least three payments more than €5 per payment as regular payments (gift cards, gambling.. are not included)

Conclusions

I love Revolut for now. To me, has a lot of benefits:

• it has the good of the crypto part as coinbase, so you can send tokens from your cold wallet (metamask or whatever) and convert them to real money to use it with the debit card. Really cool.
• you can get cashback from renting rooms, paying in amazon or whatever.
• you can send and receive money quickly between revolut users.
• you can get withdraw money at the ATMs
• the exchange rates are really competitive.
• you can use in another countries... for travelling is perfect!
• ...
