UpRock: My Experience With This DePIN Project

UpRock: My Experience With This DePIN Project

I discovered UpRock some months ago, while looking for interesting DePIN projects to try.

For those who don't know it, UpRock is a DePIN project based on real internet connections and devices. The basic idea is quite simple: users share part of their unused internet resources and, in return, receive UPT tokens.

I liked this concept because there is no need to buy expensive mining hardware. You can simply use devices and internet connections that you already have.

I have been using UpRock for a few months now and, at the moment, I have accumulated around 2,500 UPT. About 1,600 UPT are currently staked for 3 months.

The amount you can earn depends on different factors, including your connection, location, uptime and the tasks available for your device. Of course, my results are not necessarily the same for another user.

More than just a bandwidth-sharing app

What I find interesting about UpRock is that there are several ways to earn UPT.

The main one is keeping the application running and contributing your internet connection to the network. There are also passive tasks related to data collection, web scraping, mobile proxy and other services.

But you can also participate more actively. Inside the platform there are surveys, game offers, daily check-ins, achievements and different boosters that can increase your earnings.

There is also Rocket AI, which is probably one of the more interesting parts of the project. UpRock is trying to connect its decentralized infrastructure with AI and data services, using the network contributed by users.

Another possibility is staking UPT. I decided to stake part of my balance for three months, because I don't need those tokens in the short term. There are different staking periods, so everyone can choose according to their own strategy.

UpRock is also connected with the Solana ecosystem through UPTsol, adding another component to the project.

Referral program

Like many DePIN projects, UpRock also has a referral system.

You can invite other users and receive rewards based on their activity. In my opinion, referrals make sense when you introduce the project to people who are genuinely interested in it, rather than simply sharing the link everywhere.

My opinion after a few months

So far, I am quite satisfied with the project.

I am not expecting to become rich with UPT, and I think this is the wrong way to look at DePIN projects in general.

For me, the interesting thing is being able to use devices and internet connections that I already have, without making a big investment in hardware, and receive something in return.

The real question, of course, is what will happen in the future.

The value of UPT can change, the project has competition and, like every crypto project, there are risks. The important thing will be to see if UpRock can create real demand for the infrastructure provided by its users.

For now, I will continue running it and accumulating UPT.

After a few months, having around 2,500 UPT accumulated and 1,600 UPT staked, I am curious to see where this project will go.

If you are interested in DePIN projects, I think UpRock is at least worth having a look at.

This is my personal experience and not financial advice. Always do your own research before investing or staking in any crypto project.
