In this article we will see how to create a wallet and connect it to the Binance Smart Chain (BSC). This will allow you to participate in the pancakeswap.finance protocol which is on this blockchain.
MetaMask is a wallet that many users use because it runs by default on the Ethereum blockchain. But we will see how to take advantage of these advantages while participating in the protocols present on the Binance Smart Chain (BSC).
You can use Metamask for several reasons. The first is to have a non-custodial wallet. Indeed, you have the key to your wallet. There are dozens of other wallets of this type. For me, the main advantage of Metamask is that it gives you very easy access to decentralized finance and the various dApps available. In fact, most of these dApps allow you to connect with a Metamask wallet (which is far from being the case with other wallets).

How to install Metamask
1 / To install Metamask on your browser. You will need to install the extension first. You can install it on Chrome, Firefox, and Brave. I personally have a big preference for the latter and I recommend it for different reasons (article here). Click on this link and download the extension.
2 / Once the extension is installed you will see a small fox head appear at the top right (red square on the screenshot below). Click on this header to create an account during your first use, and then each time you want to interact with your wallet.
3 / During your first use, you will need to create a password and generate a seed sentence. And keep it preciously !!!! this is what allows you to access your wallet if you lose your password.
How to log into BSC
By default, the wallet is configured to operate on the Ethereum blockchain. So you have to change that and log into the Binance Smart Chain.
1 / Go to the button to select the desired network at the top
2 / Select Custom RPC
3 / complete the different sections as follows:
Network Name: BSC Mainnet
New RPC URL: https://bsc-dataseed1.binance.org/
ChainID: 56
Symbol: BNB
Block Explorer URL: https://bscscan.com/
4 / Press Save
5 / You are now connected to the Binance Smart Chain
